The role of the directors as the business owners is to oversee the management of the business from a distance, relying on the Board of Governance to support and quality assure the operational directives of the college and its staff. Directors look to steer the strategic vision of the college, to mitigate the risk, to evaluate the overall running of the college, to ensure the company remains financially stable and to ensure the overall delivery of the quality of education results in positive outcomes for all learners.

All Directors have been in post and active on the Board at The Ridge Employability College from the date of opening in September 2016.
The role of the board is to evaluate curriculum planning and delivery, contribute to the College Improvement Plan, and develop and review curriculum policies as identified within the college’s review programme. It ensures that the requirements of all learners are met, reviews the impact of learners’ attendance and behaviour. Governors are responsible for budget forecasting, quotations, tenders and monitoring on-going expenditure. The Governing Body has the responsibility of exercising a duty of care towards the college’s employees and consults on issues such as sickness and absence levels, recruitment, retention and health and safety.

The senior leadership team at the college carries full responsibility for day to day management of keeping children safe in education as part of the safeguarding team. We all work together to safeguard the learners and staff at the college.
